The University of Fribourg, Switzerland, is seeking applicants for a versatile postdoctoral role, open to both full-time and part-time candidates. This opportunity focuses on the integration of various data types. Spanning 7 months, this remote-friendly position is aimed at determining the stability of infant microbiota and their connections to behavioral rhythms and sleep neurophysiology (high-density EEG).
Responsibilities:
- Data integration: Integration and analysis of physiological data (actimetry, EEG), pre-processedbacterial data (special focus on 16S rRNA) and behavioral data across age (longitudinal) and different cohorts.
- Interdisciplinary research: Investigation of infant microbial markers, physiological data and multidimensional health variables.
- Data wrangling: Demonstrate proficiency in handling different types of health data and use this knowledge for comprehensive analyses.
- Advanced data analysis: Independently apply advanced scripting skills to process and analyse complex datasets.
- Publication preparation: Prepare research findings for publication, including thorough data documentation and clear presentation of results.
Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., integrative data science, bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, or a related discipline).
- Experience in signal processing, skills in handling physiological data and pattern analsis, rhythm analysis is an advantage.
- Strong scripting skills, with expertise in scripting languages (e.g., R, Python, MatLab).
- Proven ability to produce and contribute to high quality scientific publications.
- Advantageous: Experience in bacterial composition analysis.
